Schools

Googong will eventually have two primary and two secondary schools. The Anglican School Googong opened in 2015 and accepts students from Early Learning through to Year 12. The Googong Public Primary School opened in 2023, and a Public High School is proposed to open for students in Term 1, 2027.

Shops

Googong North Village Centre has an IGA supermarket, liquor store, Gorman & Co. pub, cafe, hair salon, beautician, childcare, Domino’s Pizza, Club Lime gym, doctors clinic, dentist, allied health services, discount pharmacy, vet and a Community Centre. The future Town Centre will include two major supermarkets as well as retail shops, cafes, restaurants, a pub and hotel, Community Centre, fire station, petrol station, library, and more.

Community

We know the importance of a tight-knit community. That’s why we employ a Community Manager to help get people together. We do our best to help new residents form social networks and get local sporting and social groups up and running. We’re constantly dreaming up great ideas to get the community together and attract visitors to the town. We host a number of free events throughout the year including Kitefest, Rural Fire Service Open Day, Christmas Carols Party, and our live music festival, Googfest.

The town of Googong is broken into five neighbourhoods framed by the gorgeous backdrop of the Molonglo Ranges. Googong North (the first neighbourhood), and Googong Central (our major shopping precinct), are sold out and we are now selling in our third neighbourhood, Googong West. Googong’s bright green future

There are plenty of reasons why Googong was awarded the Green Building Council of Australia’s first 5-Star Green Star Communities rating in 2016, which was reaccredited in 2021, and extended to 2026 in recognition of the deliverables achieved since the original certification.
