On Saturday 5 October, The Brabham Blokes held their second Conquer Mental Health event of the year.
The Brabham Blokes are a group of men in Brabham who come together to hold social events, donate their time to support their community, and host initiatives that support positive mental health and wellbeing.
The event saw Wayne Wigham, former rugby league legend, attend the event on behalf of Black Dog Institute to share his own personal mental health journey. Wayne talked about watching for the warning signs, and how to look out for the mental health of friends and family. WA Cricket also attended and share their strategies to support mental health in sport across Western Australia.
What followed was a rich discussion among the men about mental wellbeing, and how they can support each other to stay mentally healthy.
