About Brabham Estate

Home isn’t just a place, it’s a feeling…

At Brabham, you’re buying into more than an innovative, award-wining estate, you’re buying into your family’s future; a future where the values of family, neighbourhood and community are realised every day. Where you’ll know all your neighbours and feel part of a genuine community.

Our Story

BRA_About_Brandstory

Brabham Estate aims to set a new standard for masterplanned communities in Western Australia, by taking the best of communities past and melding it with contemporary thinking to create a home where all Brabham residents will thrive in the future.

Brabham Estate takes immense pride in its rich history, embedded in the legacy of the land that was previously the Caversham Motor Raceway and, in 1943, the Caversham Airfield. Named in honour of Australian motor racing icon Sir Jack Brabham, the estate embodies his spirit of innovation, resilience, and excellence. This strong connection to the past influences the community today, where residents appreciate the modern convenience of their homes while also valuing the history and legacy of the area.

Above all, what truly sets Brabham apart is its sense of community. Here, neighbours become friends, and families thrive in a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere. This is a place where the values of connection, collaboration, and respect enrich everyday life, and every resident contributes to shaping the estate’s future.

History of Brabham

Nestled within the City of Swan’s Urban Growth Corridor, the suburb of Brabham boasts a unique and fascinating history. Originally part of the larger Henley Brook area, Brabham was officially established in 2011 and named after Australian motor racing personality Sir Jack Brabham.

Caversham Raceway: The motor racing history associated with the land south of Youle-Dean Road and the adjacent land to the east is exciting and unique to Brabham. To pay homage to this rich history, design elements within the estate will take inspiration from the landmark locations within the area. The Caversham Motor Raceway held events such as the 1946 Victory Grand Prix, which attracted around 60,000 people, approximately 10% of the population of Western Australia. It also hosted the 1957 and 1962 Australian Grand Prix, where famous drivers of the day such as Sir Jack Brabham, Bruce McLaren, Lex Davidson and Stan Jones competed.

Caversham Airfield: In 1943, the Caversham Airfield was constructed to benefit the Royal Australian Air Force and the US Navy as a temporary airfield during World War 11. The airfield consisted of 3x 5,000 ft sealed runways and although the main north-south runway sits outside of the Property, the remaining runways within the estate will be incorporated into the design to celebrate the remarkable aviation history of the site.

Caversham Signal Tower: In the 1960s, the Australian Army took control of the land and constructed a Signal Station and several other buildings including an operations centre, powerhouse and pump house. The buildings and mast remain on the property and are located on the land south of Youle-Dean Road and within the retained bushland.
