And the winner is… Option 1!
Residents were invited to vote for their preferred option for the Landscape Protection Area in Stage 5, and also offered their opinion on aspects that were favourable and areas of the plans that could use some improvement.
There was a clear winner with the first option receiving strong support with 74% of the nearly 100 votes for this preferred design concept.
Popular elements included the play equipment (such as its size, accessibility, range, aesthetics and range of activities); the pathways (including location, length, and materials used in their creation) and the lookouts (such as their number and positioning). Residents also provided feedback on the lack of bathrooms, and some residents felt that the grassed area was too large.
The feedback that has been provided through the survey has been taken on board by the Golden Bay team, as we work towards securing approvals for this exciting new space. We hope to balance the protection and enhancement of the environment with delivering you a great open space for neighbours, families and friends alike to enjoy!
